Hi, my name is Sara. I’m a freelance writer working out of Winnipeg, MB.
I've always been a writer. I was the kid who wrote notes to her parents after having a fight, the teen who filled countless journals, and, so far, the adult that's managed to write about some really interesting things.
I've written arts and culture stories for the CBC and local publications, I've taken radio show segments and written them for the web, and I've interviewed people for newsletter articles for organizations like the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, UNICEF, and Red River College.
On top of the professional writing I do, I created an ongoing project called Feminist Fonts. This project showcases the trio of voices in my head -- that running inner dialogue -- that help me frame and breakdown so many of the inequalities that come with being a woman. For me, these three voices have different personalities which easily lend themselves to visual representation in the form of regular, bold, and italic fonts.
